Build the core skills to bring stories to life on screen in this five-day filmmaking summer school. Designed for beginners, this intensive course gives you a practical introduction to how films are planned, shot and shaped in post-production.
Across the week, you’ll take part in hands-on workshops that mix discussion, film analysis and practical exercises. You’ll explore how meaning is created on screen, how to plan and shoot a scene, and how to bring everything together through editing.
Delivered at SAE campuses across the UK, the course covers visual storytelling, camera basics, lighting, sound recording and the essentials of post-production. You’ll also get a feel for how real productions run, working with others in a studio setting and trying out different creative roles.
